If there's no video, it never happened

It's been 5 years since i produced this video for Camp White Pine, and i didn't really know it at the time, but it would become a catalyst for my own personal growth as a video professional.  When I approached the camp directors about making a lipdub video, they

Droning Vietnam

My sister and I joined a guided Vietnam VBT bike tour, although the experience was fairly independant, it was nice to have a translator available at all times to help us navigate the culture. I learned that the Vietnamese absolutely love tourists, best exemplified when my sister and I joined a 6am laughing yoga class in Honoi (pictured at 1:13), we were celebrities! In addition to the hospitality, the food was just incredible, and way beyond what I expected. No signature dishes per se stood out, but the faux soup is delicious everywhere.

In addition to beautiful footage, travelling with a drone provides exciting opportunities to bond with new cultures around the shared wonder of flight (and flying cameras). Even though I didn't speak or understand the native language , I was able to follow conversations exhibiting body language explaining the transmission of the drone camera's picture to the monitor attached to my controller. The drone also added an interactive element to my biking group, as I positioned myself along the group's biking route to capture candid shots - I told everyone to ignore me and look natural, but no one could resist the classic smile and wave.

Hope you enjoy the video, put Vietnam on your bucket list ;)
